::: In Exile :::

Crazy week. I landed in Dallas last weekend to visit my sister and family at her house warming. As soon as i landed i got text messages regarding the result of the England vs. Portugal game, soon after i talked to a sobbing englishman who was heart broken. I love soccer football and was also sad that the English couldn’t pull it out (Germany losing on Wednesday, left me without a team i was rooting for) but i can’t imagine the distress of a country losing in the world cup. The USA national teams losing in basketball or in the World Baseball Classic doesn’t quite compare and hardly registers a blip on the general American conscience. It is amazing the power of football in the world to bring nations and people together.
